Lara will still wield her new trademark climbing axe and bow, but there will also be an expanded variety of weapons and weapon upgrades.Rise includes an expanded crafting system that involves collecting such items as "plants, minerals, metals, cloth, hides, and other items" which can then be used to create new tools and weapons, including grapple lines for traversal traps, explosives, and poisoned weapons for combat and bandages for healing on the fly.Survival against the elements, combat, and exploration continue to play major roles in the game, but in response to fan feedback, the developers have incorporated more tombs and ancient ruins-as well as more elaborate, multi-layered puzzles. Most of the game takes place in Siberia, though it comprises a variety of terrain types including icy peaks, dense forests, and underwater caverns. An early level set in the Syrian desert centers on Lara's search for a tomb mentioned in her father's research. The story centers on Lara's search for the invisible city of Kitezh from Russian folklore.Lara now seeks answers to the questions raised by her experiences on Yamatai. Her encounter with the Sun Queen, Himiko, has fueled an obsession with immortality myths. As we saw in the Rise of the Tomb Raider announcement trailer, Lara carries both physical and psychological scars from her experiences in TOMB RAIDER (2013).In addition to regular voice and motion capture, the game incorporates Mova motion-capture technology, which is used for high-resolution facial capture in films as well as videogames. Camilla Luddington and Earl Baylon reprise their roles as Lara and Jonah. The PlayStation 4 version is scheduled to release October 11, 2016, as a special 20 Year Celebration edition including all previous DLC plus new content and features. The game initially launched in November 2015 as an Xbox exclusive, with Crystal Dynamics developing the Xbox One version and Nixxes Studios, which has collaborated closely with Crystal in the past, working on the Xbox 360 game.Sad there is no mod Tool to replace some Outfits in 2013 with some from Rise. =D I agree with you about the Outfit of the cover of Rise. However, there were interesting things such as :- the speedboat, the motorbike, the temple in the jungle, Lara's doppelganger.įinally. But there are many parts which I disliked :- the time it takes to kill the big octopus to move in the underwater temple, too many monsters to fight against, especially the last chapter. The landscapes and gameplay sure looked good. The Baba Yaga DLC seemed a bit difficult and a bit too fast-paced to play.Īs for Underworld, I also watched a full gameplay on YouTube. You would imagine Lara taking photos of maps, relics, ruins, temples, tombs rather than doing selfies.īack to Rise, I watched a full gameplay on YouTube. But it's too long and the part where you have Selfie Mode looks ridiculous. It's very long and visually very beautiful, for sure. It feels weird watching old Lara with modern gameplay, landscapes and, more importantly, new graphics.Īs for Shadow, I hate it. The only part I dislike is the fact that the game developers put Classic Lara models in the game for the players to choose. How she acquired so much experience and technique in two years ? She's now traveling with two Climbing Axes, Halogen lamps, is well equipped in her tracking of Trinity. Also, when I look at Rise, if you don't read the comics, it feels like there's a game missing between 20. I do like Rise too, even if I think that the open-world came too soon (just two years after the first game). My preferred game of the Survivor Trilogy is, of course, the 2013 reboot!
